The Tyrants of Your Mind
For civilization, muddy terms arise,
Confusion reigns ‘neath society’s guise.
Courage and bravery, ideals unclear,
Detached from yore, distant and austere.
Monsters once known now wield fear.
In shadows deep, our fears take flight,
Not darkness itself, but what hides in the night.
Primal dread, ancient and profound,
Respect it, for in darkness it’s found.
A future unknown, a path unclear,
Tools of control now masters appear.
Externalization leads to our demise,
Detached from nature, humanity cries.
We’ve climbed to heights, a lonely peak,
Where terror and paranoia constantly seek.
Forgetful of lessons, tyrants we’ve made,
In our own minds, their rule is laid.
Against the darkness, we must stand,
Pick up the spear, face what’s at hand.
God’s act or nature’s force, we face,
With courage, endure, in any case.
Remember, your choices define your fate,
Fear, horror, terror, they can’t dominate.
With strength of will, they can be quelled,
From rulers to guides, their power expelled.
Bravery isn’t absence of fear’s hold,
But action despite, courageous and bold.
Discretion guides, in judgment true,
Against the tyrants, courage renew.
Act, dare, no matter how small,
Defeat the tyrants, stand tall.
In deeds, in actions, their power fades,
With courage, their rule evades.
So remember this truth, in heart and in mind,
The path you choose, the fate you find.
Fear not the tyrants, for they can’t endure,
In courage and action, their rule obscure.
