Emotion blooms like forbidden fruit,
Its allure whispers around me, a silent pursuit,

In every corner, I see its appeal,
People surrendering, their senses they kneel.

Yet in this world of numbness, I rise,
Above the abyss where emotion lies.
For the first time, I embrace the pain,
No longer can I deny, I must refrain.

I cannot silence this newfound ache,
Nor mask it with pleasures for my sake.
It engulfs me, every joy, every sorrow,
A relentless tide, no respite to borrow.

In the depths of my past, I find its grasp,
In recent losses, it holds me fast,
And in the unknown future, it casts its shadow,
A verdict pending, its outcome to follow.

Here I stand, amidst this storm of feeling,
A revelation, profound and revealing.
For years, I shunned emotion’s call,
But now I surrender, I give my all.

Logic once ruled, a shield from the pain,
But change swept in, breaking the chain.
No longer can I deny its decree,
Emotion’s reign, unyielding and free.

May I learn from the folly of my past,
May despair’s grip never again hold me fast.
In feeling’s embrace, may strength be found,
As I walk this path, on solid ground.
